Doublespeak has multiple forms. It is used to persecute, obscure, and confuse. I speculate also that it is used to make malevolent magic stronger.
One form is the same word having multiple meanings. This can be used to tie two or more of the meanings together. Words that have multiple widely ranging meanings work well for this.
Bond is a reasonable word to consider. Adjective 1, Noun 1, 2b, 3a, and 3d. Slavery, a legal relationship of restraint based on the debt of one party to the other. Noun 4 makes this a strong structure. This definition ties into a later story.

Also, similar to the first, is a word that has one commonly used meaning and an unknown, archaic or other meaning. The user means the archaic or another meaning but also intends for it to be interpreted by the commonly used meaning. As an example, the word cover.
Legacy media covers news stories. Are they using definition 3 and actually reporting actual events, or definitions 1 and 5 and hiding the facts? Are they paid to do definition 8 to the public?
Cover – verb

Another type of doublespeak are words with different spellings that sound the same. Sometimes praying is actually preying if the intent is malevolent. Rap (the music) can be an enveloping wrap. The energy, good or bad, sticks and becomes cultural. Country music and hip hop have similar, though less dramatically noticeable effects.

Worship, warship – Worship is a warship.

It is interesting that a lot of the words have definitions that include references to the elements (air, water/nautical, thearn/landmass formations, fire), money/currency (I’m not sure thearn had money before the invasion), and fighting/conflict/war/violence/conquest/reign. The elements are used in some types of magic.
